     James Byner was born on 3 June 1838 at Sedlescombe, Sussex. He was a farmer (according to his marriage certificate) on 27 May 1868 at Seddlescomb. He married Anne Sabina Wightwick, daughter of Charles Wightwick and Sarah Eliza Bourne, on 27 May 1868 at The Parish Church, Beckley, Sussex; ('Ann Sabina Wightwick', resident of Beckley.) James Byner was draper master on 2 May 1869 at Sedlescombe. He appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at Sedlescombe, Sussex; (Head: James Byner, 32, grocer & draper, with his wife, Annie S., 29, son Charles J.,1 and grandmother Elizabeth Young, widow, 79, Bailiff's wife; with George Wightwick, 15, grocer's apprentice, and a shopman.) He was grocer on 20 January 1874 at Sedlescombe. He appeared on the census of 4 April 1881 at Egertons House, Ewhurst, Sussex; (Head: James Byner, 42, road surveyor, his wife Ann S., 38; his 3 children, Charles J., 11, Annie, 7 and Frank,3; and his brother-in-law Charles Wightwick (sic), 32, annuitant, together with one general servant, Caroline Akehurst, 18, born Warbleton, Sussex.) He appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at Egerton's House, Ewhurst, Sussex; (head: James Byner, 52, farmer, with his wife Annie, 48 and son Frank, 13.) He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at Village, Sedlescombe, Sussex; Head: James Byner, 62, assistant [?illegible], with his wife Sabina, 59, and Charles Wightwick, visitor, single, 52, of own means. He died after 31 March 1901.

     Charles James Byner was born on 2 May 1869 at Sedlescombe. He was Doctor of Veterinary Medicine circa 1890. He married Edith Kate (?) circa 1895. Charles James Byner lived on 22 December 1959 at Woodlands, Kings Drive, Eastbourne, Sussex. He died on 14 June 1960 at 271 Kings Drive, Eastbourne, at age 91.

     Her married name was Byner. Edith Kate (?) married Charles James Byner, son of James Byner and Anne Sabina Wightwick, circa 1895. Edith Kate (?) died in September 1976.

     Frank Whitwick Byner was born in 1878 at Ewhurst, Sussex. He married Rene ? circa 1908. Frank and Rene had no children. They owned a succession of Scottish terriers whom they named "Jane". Frank Whitwick Byner made a small fortune with a chain of tea shops where he sold factory made cakes, an innovation at that time. He died after 1961.

     Her married name was Byner. Anne Sabina Wightwick was born on 1 March 1841 at Cranbrook, Kent; 7 p.m. She married James Byner, son of James Byner and Caroline Hyacinth Young, on 27 May 1868 at The Parish Church, Beckley, Sussex; ('Ann Sabina Wightwick', resident of Beckley.) Anne Sabina Wightwick died after 31 March 1901.

     Charles Wightwick married Sarah Eliza Bourne, daughter of Henry Bourne and Sarah Dunk; (The only Charles Wightwick married during the period July 1837-June 1840 was in Tenterden (5 - 431), on 11/1/39 to Mary Ann Part, a widow - NOT to a Sarah Eliza Bourne! 1837 online has no Sarah Bournes marrying in Kent or Sussex in the period 1837-1841.) Charles Wightwick was born on 9 November 1799 at Tenterden, Kent. He was baptized on 29 November 1799 at Presbyterian, Tenterden, Kent. He was a farmer on 1 March 1841 at Cranbrook. He appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 at [illegible] Farm, Salehurst, Sussex; (Head: Charles Wightwick, 51, farmer of 280 acres employing 5 men; his wife Eliza, 47; his 4 children, Dorcas, 20, occupation illegible; Jane, 12; Sabina, 10 and Charles, ?5; and 3 servants.) He died before 7 April 1861. He was a farmer, according to his daughter's marriage cert. on 27 May 1868.

     Charles Wightwick was born in 1846 at Salehurst, Sussex. He appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at Tudor Hall Academy, London Rd., Hawkhurst; Charles Wightwick aged 15. He died after 31 March 1901.
