     William Hotchkis of Hoxwood was born circa 1550. He married Jane Northwood circa 1580. William Hotchkis of Hoxwood died circa 1607.

     Jane Northwood married William Hotchkis of Hoxwood circa 1580. As of 1580,her married name was Hotchkis. Jane Northwood died in 1632.

     Jane Hart Hotchkis was born in 1839. She married Dr (James) Matthews Duncan circa 1860. As of 1865,her married name was Duncan. Jane Hart Hotchkis died in 1916.

     Dr (James) Matthews Duncan was born in 1826. He married Jane Hart Hotchkis, daughter of James Hotchkis and Margaret Hart, circa 1860. Dr Duncan became a prominent figure in Edinburgh's medical circles and, according to James H. Jameson, (click on icon to read Reminiscences) should have been appointed to one of the chairs of medicine in Edinburgh University. A less deserving man was appointed, (politics no doubt) and Dr. Duncan moved to London where he became quite successful. Witnesses to his March 1890 Will were a butler and footman. Dr (James) Matthews Duncan lived in 1870 at 21 Brook Street, Grosvenor Square, London, W. He died on 1 September 1890 at Baden Baden, Switzerland.

     Carl Benjamin Wolff was born on 26 April 1825 at Elberfeld, Germany. He married Emma Haarhaus, daughter of Peter Haarhaus and Maria Catherine Furth, circa 1850. Carl Benjamin Wolff died on 19 August 1892 at Elberfeld at age 67.

     Emma Haarhaus was born on 6 March 1830 at Elberfeld, Germany. She married Carl Benjamin Wolff, son of Johannn Christian Wolff and Johanna Maria Dollar, circa 1850. As of 1850,her married name was Wolff. Emma Haarhaus died on 13 July 1852 at age 22.

     Johannn Christian Wolff was born at Oberlisting, Germany. He married Johanna Maria Dollar before 1825. Johannn Christian Wolff died on 3 September 1837 at Elberfeld.

     Peter Haarhaus was born on 28 September 1794 at Eberfeld, Germany. He married Maria Catherine Furth circa 1829. Peter Haarhaus died on 16 February 1858 at age 63.

     Maria Catherine Furth was born circa 1810 at Bonn, Germany. She married Peter Haarhaus circa 1829. As of circa 1850,her married name was Haarhaus. Maria Catherine Furth died on 2 March 1859 at Eberfeld.
