     Roy Herbert Thomson 1st Ld. Thomson of Fleet was born on 5 June 1894 at Toronto. He married Edna Alice Irvine on 22 February 1916. Roy Herbert Thomson 1st Ld. Thomson of Fleet died on 4 August 1976 at Wellington Hospital, St John's Wood, London, at age 82; 'He gave a new direction to the British newspaper industry. A strange and adventurous man from nowhere, ennobled by the great virtues of courage and integrity and faithfulness' - a plaque in his memory in the crypt of St Paul's Cathedral, London, unveiled in 1979 by Harold Macmillan.

     Her married name was Thomson. Edna Alice Irvine married Roy Herbert Thomson 1st Ld. Thomson of Fleet, son of Herbert Thomson and Alice Maud Coombs, on 22 February 1916. Edna Alice Irvine died in 1951.

     Kenneth Roy Thomson 2nd Ld. Thomson of Fleet was born on 1 September 1923. He died on 12 June 2006 at age 82.
