     AEthelwulf of Wessex was born circa 795 at Aachen, Germany. AEthelwulf, meaning "Noble Wolf" was King of Wessex from 839 until his death. He died on 13 January 858.

     Egbert was born between 769 and 771. Egbert was King of Wessex from 802 until his death. He was forced into exile by Offa of Mercia and Beorhtric of Wessex, but on Beorhtric's death in 802 he returned and took the throne. He died in 839.

     Kenneth II King of Scotland was born circa 924. Kenneth II was King of Alba (Scotland) 971-995. He died in 995.

     Malcolm I King of Alba was born circa 900. He Kenneth II was King of Scots from 943-954. He died in 954.

     Donald II was King of the Picts from 889-900. Donald II King of the Picts, or Alba died in 900.

     Constantin I was also known as Causantin. Constantin I was King of the Picts/Alba from 862-877. He died fighting Vikings and was buried on the island of Iona. Viking activity in northern Britain appears to have reached a peak during Causantín's reign. Viking armies were led by a small group of men who may have been kinsmen.

     Kenneth I was also known as Kenneth McAlpin. King of Scots 834. According to national myth, Kenneth I was the first king of the Scots, earning him the title "Conquerer." He died on 13 February 858.
