Duncan I King of Scotland

Duncan I King of Scotland was born circa 1001. He was crowned king in 1034 following the death of his grandfather Malcolm. In Shakespeare's play, Duncan was murdered by Macbeth at Glamis Castle. In fact Duncan was killed in battle by his own men led by Macbeth in 1040.
