Canada. He was confirmed on 25 November 1920 at St. Barnabas', Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex, England; by the Bishop of Chichester. He was Type: EDUC Cheltenham College (day boy, arrived 1921, left July 1925) in 1921. He was Type: EDUC Prize for Holiday drawings and paintings, birds etc. awarded to him, as evidenced by the prize book, An intro to the study of Gothic Architecture in our Library. on 1 October 1923 at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. He was Type: EDUC RMA Woolwich (Prize cadet 1925) in 1925. He was Type: EDUC Hornby prize for French ('Army Entrance Examination') awarded - as evidenced by the prize book, Soldiers Three and other stories by Kipling, in our Library. in June 1925 at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. He was 2nd lieut. Royal Signals in 1927. He married Frances Holme Wiggin on 11 March 1939 at Kensington Register Office. John James Yorke Scarlett was a Squadron Leader in the RAF (and a Film Sound Recordist formerly) on 20 June 1945. He lived in 1946 at Kensington, London; 'We moved from Ashprington House in Ashprington to lodge with cousins when Father went back to work for the RCA dubbing theatre in Hammersmith after being demobed', said James. They lived at 45 Queensdale Rd., 19 Brook Green (which was nearer to JJYS's work at the RCA dubbing theatre, Hammersmith); 9 Queensdale Place (Eva Nisbett being at no 7); and 37 Addison Avenue between about 1958 and 1963. He lived in January 1963 at The Old Rectory, Cadeleigh, nr. Tiverton, Devon. He lived in August 1973 at The Post Office, Fossebridge. He died on 23 January 1984 at Cheltenham General Hospital at age 76.

She emigrated on 15 November 1902 from Southhampton on the St Paul to New York. She married John Edwin (Jack) Scarlett, son of Samuel Scarlett and (Harriet) Emma Fisher, in May 1905 at San Francisco. Annie Elizabeth Byner lived before 1943 at near Beaconsfield. She died after 1943 at Beaconsfield but there is no sign of her death between Jan. 1940 and Dec. 63 in BMD.

     Evelyn Helen Mary Scarlett was born at Bodie, Mono County, California, USA; on 24 December 1905, named for her birth on Christmas Eve. Evelyn told the story that she was delivered by an indian "squaw" because the doctor was too drunk to come to the house! Bodie, in 1906, had a population of 800. According to an account in the Chronicle-Union, a Bridgeport newspaper, Bodie "has good schools ..... and the purest water that springs naturally from the earth. It has 2 churches, a Catholic and Methodist Episcopal.....and Bodie people have "the virtues of the west and few of its vices". They have no city government, yet the best order is maintained." She was educated at Bodie, California, where she and her brother used to ski to school. The family left Bodie in 1913 when the Standard Mining Company closed. Later, she was a student at the Convent of the Assumption, Sidmouth, Devon where her aunt, Mother Lelia (a convert to Roman Catholicism) was the Mother Superior.She was athletic at school and hence known as the "scarlet runner bean" also for her height, 5' 11". Her family were living in Sidmouth at this time. She worked for Vogue magazine between 1923 and 1936 in London. She married Lt.-Col. George Hamilton Ogilvie M.C., son of George Ogilvie and Harriet Gordon, on 4 July 1936 at London, England. After her marriage to George Ogilvie she moved to Swallowfield, near Reading, Berkshire where her 2 children were born. After her husband died in 1943 she returned to London where she worked at Fenwicks as a Buyer and fashion consultant. Evelyn Helen Mary Scarlett married Douglas Oliver Spink in 1952 they lived in Hove. Evelyn Helen Mary Scarlett died on 12 March 1976 at Hove, Sussex, England, at age 70 from an abdominal aortic aneurism. She was cremated and her ashes scattered at the Garden of Remembrance of St. Andrew's (Old) Church in Hove. Her daughter, Rachel and granddaughter, Nicola, visited Bodie in 2014.      Rachel Anne Ogilvie died. She was born on 25 September 1939 at Wolsey Cottage, Swallowfield, Berkshire. She was educated in 1957 at Convent of the Assumption, Sidmouth, Devon, England, She spent the following year at the Assumption Convent in St. Gervais- les-Bains in Haute Savoie, France where she taught English and studied French. She attended Mrs. Hoster's Secretarial School in 1959 and worked as a Secretary in London for a year or so. She was educated in 1985 at Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville, New York, where she graduated in 1990 with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and in 1992 an M.A. in Healthcare Administration. She was was Program Administrator for the Westchester County Health Dept (1992-3) Asst. Director of Risk Management (1993-4) and Director of Volunteers (1994-2002) at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York. There she implemented programs to improve patients' hospital experience, including recreational, music and pet therapy, an interpreter program and patient visitor program. in January 1992. Rachel suffered a ruptured thoracic aneurysm in December, 2008. Following a successful operation at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC she made a full recovery. After her retirement, Rachel and Robert moved to Henderson, North Carolina to be near their daughters, Nicola and Emma and twin grandsons, Sam and Sid. Rachel was active in her community, volunteering at the E.M. Rollins Elementary School where she helped students in kindergarden and 1st grade with their reading skills. She also served as a Guardian ad Litem, working with abused and neglected children to find them a foster home. In this role, she represented the children at Court Hearings, providing a voice for them to ensure their emotional and physcial needs were met. Rachel spent many years researching her family ancestry and traced her Scottish ancestors back to Robert the Bruce, 1st king of Scotland. She created a website that reached family members across the globe who contributed data to add to the site. In her spare time, Rachel enjoyed playing golf and working in her garden. Rachel and her husband enjoyed travelling and took trips to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Greece.
