     Sheriff Andrew Jameson was born on 30 April 1811 at Cupar, Fife. He was educated at Perth Grammar School and St Andrews University. He studied law at Edinbuargh University. He was called to the Bar in 1835 and in 1843 was appointed Sheriff-Substitute of Ayrshire and Midlothian in 1845. He was transferred to Edinburgh and appointed Sheriff of Aberdeen on 6 November 1865. In 1854 Sheriff Jameson drew up a constitution - civil and criminal code - for the Island of Malta. (For a detailed account of this see Andrew Jameson: a prophet without honour, by D.H.F. Andrew Jameson was distinguished for his sound judgments and consciencious diligence in rendering opinions. He took a great interest in the Protestant Churches on the Continent and, being an accomplished scholar in Italian, French and Spanish, he was able to support newly founded Churches in Italy and Spain by visiting them and raising funds for their assistance. Sheriff Jameson was an elder of the Free Church in Edinburgh and legal adviser to their ministry. He married Alexandra (Alexa) Grace Campbell in 1844. Sheriff Andrew Jameson married Margaret Hart Hotchkis, daughter of James Hotchkis and Margaret Hart, on 28 July 1853. Sheriff Andrew Jameson lived in 1860 at Brentfield Terrace, Edinburgh. He died on 30 October 1870 at age 59 of diphtheria within a few days of visiting his son, John, who became ill and died from the disease.      Elizabeth (Betsy) Robertson Jameson was born on 20 June 1806 at Cupar, Fife. She died in 1823.

     James Jameson was born on 14 March 1804 at Cupar, Fife. James left home on 1st March 1818 (aged 13). His uncle, Captain James Jameson, secured a position for him in the East India Company's Maritime Service. He sailed from Dundee and joined the crew of the Scaleby Castle sailing down the English Channel. He died at age 24 of dysentery that caused the death of half the crew of the vessel in which he was returning from Calcutta.

     John St Clair Jameson was born on 12 August 1803 at Cupar, Fife. At age 16 John St Clair travelled to London and took a cadetship (secured for him by his uncle, Captain James Jameson) in the army of the East India Company and sailed on the Earl of Balcarras to Bombay and Whampoa. Every day he wrote to his father, who kept the letters which were later compiled into a diary or journal of his voyage. James returned to Scotland in 1836, and spent some time raising funds to promote the education of Indian women. He married Marion Snodgrass-Buchanan on 28 July 1839. After his marriage, the couple left for India. His regiment was involved in a campaign against the Baluchi tribes in the north and after capturing their main town of Shahpur, the campaign came to a successful end in March, 1845. John St Clair Jameson died on 22 March 1847 at Hyderabad, India, at age 43.

     Melville Jameson was born on 11 May 1813 at Cupar, Fife. He was educated in 1830 at St. Andrews University. He married (Janet) Jessie Duncan circa 1835.

     Robert Thomson Jameson was born on 20 July 1809 at Cupar, Fife. He died on 11 August 1832 at age 23.

     Sophia Margaret Jameson was born on 17 March 1808 at Cupar, Fife. As of circa 1826,her married name was Gray. She married George Gray circa 1826. Sophia Margaret Jameson died in 1894.

     Margaret Hart Hotchkis was born in 1830. Family granted coat of arms Hotchkis of Hoxwood in the County of Salop in 1484. As of 28 July 1853,her married name was Jameson. She married Sheriff Andrew Jameson, son of Andrew Jameson and Euphemia Chalmers, on 28 July 1853. Margaret Hart Hotchkis died in 1897.

     George Gray was born in 1798. He married Sophia Margaret Jameson, daughter of Andrew Jameson and Euphemia Chalmers, circa 1826. George Gray was a writer in 1830. He died in 1877.

     Dr James Duncan was born in 1807. He was a medical officer with the East India Company. He married Rachel Ogilvie, daughter of James Ogilvie and Rachel Jameson, on 10 June 1840 at Dundee, Scotland, attended by 44 relations. The young couple sailed for India from Dundee and settled in Chittagong where Dr Duncan practiced for the East India Company for some years with skill and devotion. After his wife, Rachel, died in childbirth, Dr. Duncan took the two children back to Scotland to live with their grandparents, James and Rachel Ogilvie. He set sail from Calcutta for the long journey home. Shortly before the ship reached Capetown, the doctor died. The children's Ayah continued the journey to Scotland and delivered the children safely to their grandparents.

     Euphemia (Effie) Chalmers Gray was born in 1828. As of 1847,her married name was Ruskin. She married John Ruskin in 1847. As of 1848,her married name was Millais. The marriage of Euphemia (Effie) Chalmers Gray and John Ruskin was annulled in 1854 since the marriage was never consummated. The annulment caused a scandal at the time and Ruskin's sexuality has been continuously under scrutiny. Euphemia (Effie) Chalmers Gray married Sir John Everett Millais on 5 July 1855. Euphemia (Effie) Chalmers Gray died in 1897.

     John Ruskin was born in 1819. He was best known for his work as an art critic and social commentator, but is also remembered as an author, poet and artist. His essays on art and architecture were tremendously influential in the Victorian and Edwardian eras, as was his political critique. Indeed, he inspired Mahatma Gandhi to say that Ruskin had been the single greatest influence in his life. He married Euphemia (Effie) Chalmers Gray, daughter of George Gray and Sophia Margaret Jameson, in 1847. The marriage of John Ruskin and Euphemia (Effie) Chalmers Gray was annulled in 1854 since the marriage was never consummated.      Sir John Everett Millais was born on 8 June 1829 at Southampton. He was an artist and protege of John Ruskin. With Rossetti and Hunt, he founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1848. He married Euphemia (Effie) Chalmers Gray, daughter of George Gray and Sophia Margaret Jameson, on 5 July 1855. Sir John Everett Millais died on 13 August 1896 at London at age 67.

     As of 1858,her married name was Macaulay. Catherine Pelling married Thomas Coban Macaulay, son of George Macaulay and Anne Spankie, in 1858. Catherine Pelling died in 1859.

     George Robert Macaulay was born in 1858.

     As of 1861,her married name was Macaulay. Elizabeth (Bessie) Finnamore married Thomas Coban Macaulay, son of George Macaulay and Anne Spankie, on 24 August 1861. Thomas and Bessie had 7 children of which Christina Ann was the second. Elizabeth (Bessie) Finnamore died in 1880.

     Christina Ann Macaulay was born circa 1863.

     Sir Alexander Wedderburn was born on 4 November 1675. He was Town Clerk of Dundee. He married Katherine Scott, daughter of John Scott, on 15 November 1697. Sir Alexander Wedderburn died in 1744.

     As of circa 1837,her married name was Jameson. Alexandra (Alexa) Grace Campbell married Sheriff Andrew Jameson, son of Andrew Jameson and Euphemia Chalmers, in 1844. Alexandra (Alexa) Grace Campbell died in December 1848 at in childbirth.

     Andrew Jameson was born in 1845 and went on to become Lord Ardwall. Andrew Jameson changed his name by deed poll to McCulloch to inherit his wife's estate. He died in 1911.

     Alexander Jameson was born in 1847. He died in 1851.

     John St Clair Jameson was born in 1848. He died in October 1870 of diphtheria.

     Euphemia Jameson was born in 1815. She died in 1822of whooping cough.

     Sophia Jameson was born on 17 May 1774 at Dysart. Her married name was Thomson. She married James Thomson circa 1806. They lived at Eden Park, near Cupar. Sophia Jameson died after 1836.

     Captain James Jameson was born on 27 April 1773 at Dysart. He was educated at Perth Academy. He married Elizabeth Robertson circa 1805. James had a distinguished career in the East India Company Merchant Marine. In 1831 he went to Calcutta where he was Master Attendant, the most senior post abroad of the E.I. Company Maritime. He bought "Drums" from Robert Thomson (no relation). "Drums" was a large house near Freuchie in the parish of Falkland, overlooking the valley of the River Eden. His brother, Andrew, acted as factor when James was away in India. Captain James and his wife, Elizabeth, had no children. in 1830. Captain James Jameson died in 1834.
